Countdown to Spring Break 2006

We are all really looking forward to our Spring Break Vacation next week. We are spending a week at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson. The kids have been helping me plan our activities and are excited about going horseback riding, trout fishing, a day at Silver Dollar City, shopping, and checking out some new attractions in Branson. Branson Landing is a huge new multi-million dollar development that opens this Spring with shopping, dining, shows and attractions. Silver Dollar City also opens a new area with 16 new family rides! We can't wait! We are all in need of a vacation. Mike has been working long hours at the shop for the last couple of months, and has been really stressed out over selling the shop and starting a new business. Then lately, he comes home and has to take up the slack there, since I have been sick so much the past few weeks. I am using this week to rest up and be in good health before we leave this weekend. Hunter has been having some trouble in school this grading period, so he has been on a strict schedule of homework and studying, so he is really looking forward to the break. Faith can't wait to get to Silver Dollar City, and Jesse is just excited because everyone else is!

Bring on the vacation!!! - We're ready!

Carmel for my lips

For the last couple of days, Faith has told me occasionally that she needs some carmel for her lips. I had no idea what she was talking about.......Hunter has been selling candybars for a school fundraiser - some of them with carmel filling, and I thought maybe that was a weird way of telling me she wanted one of those candy bars. Of course, she accepted this, but was not completely satisfied. This afternoon, it hit me...as I reached into the medicine cabinet for my jar of Carmex.....Faith came running in and said "Can I have some carmel for my lips?"

Who knew carmel could heal chapped lips?!

What happened to normal?

I know I have been behind on my posts.....I think I am finally starting to emerge from the "funk" that I have been in lately. It's hard to explain, but there have been many contributing factors.....morning sickness, nausea with and without vomiting, caffeine withdrawal including daily headaches (and unable to take ibuprofen), irritability (Mike can confirm), lack of energy, insomnia, etc.....

Anyway, I have been feeling much better the last couple of days, and hope it continues to improve. Mike has been very patient!!!

Soccer season

Hunter played his 2nd soccer game on Saturday, and it was a beautiful day for it. He scored 2 goals and was an awesome defender, keeping the other team from scoring any points. It was very exciting to watch.

Faith's soccer experience, on the other hand, has not been going so well! She is terrified of her coach, from the first time she saw him. He is a big burly man (over 350 easily) with a full, thick beard and a big booming voice. She refuses to get on the field with him. He seems like a very nice man, but I guess he is a little intimidating for a 4 year old.

Oh, well - at least dance is still going well.

It doesn't matter what I dress her in - at some point in every day lately, she ends up in one of her leotards....prancing and twirling around the house!
