volcanoes, pony rides & watercolor turtles

It has been my goal this summer to provide my kids with enough opportunities for creative and productive activites that they don't care about television or video games. It's been keeping me so busy that I think I have gotten more effecient at time management skills, which definitely will be a necessity when the new baby comes. We have been taking advantage of the summer programs at our public library, going swimming, visiting parks and museums, skating, mini golfing, picnicing, a few playdays with Asher and Lilli, etc....


We built and erupted a homemade volcano.....
(Hunter checked out a cool book from the library with lots of fun science crafts)....








This is from one of our morning "turtle hunts" - the kids like to paint them with watercolor before letting them go (it's fun to find them again later)








we have spent lots of time at the ball park watching Hunter and Tyler's games




We've been taking evening strolls several times a week when Daddy gets home - Hunter and Faith ride their bikes and Jesse rides in the wagon. We almost always see a bunny or a snake or something exciting on our way.

I can't belive how fast the summer is passing. We hope to get in a camping trip before school starts, and maybe one more trip to Branson?! We'll see!
